Postcard Swap

I have been trying out different group swaps. At this moment I am waiting on a handmade paper swap, a recipe book swap and working on a postcard swap due next week. The theme for the postcards is open but the colors must be silver and blue. I have done 4 of them and working on the last one that I will post soon. Here are the completed four.

I have done these postcards using pages from an old mailing stamp catalog that I bought at the Good Will. There are christmas stamps used in 1964. I painted the pages with glaze mixed with silver metallic acrylic paint; it is a little hard to see on the picture but it gives a nice shimmer to the pages. Then, I stamped the pages resembling a postcard and mounted on a silver postcard. I used the heat gun to give the postcard an aged look. These postcards will be on their way next week.

Fat Technique book from BookArtz@yahoogroups.com

I better start working on my technique pages that are due on Oct 3rd. I have to make 32 of them. I will be sharing the glue crackled technique that I have been using since I learned it. unexpensive but turns out great!!!. I used it to make the background walls for the house on the Home for Xmas page on my mom's AB that I posted previously. GONE WORKING!!!!

AB for Mom. Duct tape background

Home for Xmas

AB for my mom

These are the first two pages of the Xmas AB I am making for my mom. I used lime green acrylic mixed with white glaze to get the transparent effect. I got inspired with the tittle of this chapter, The Gift of the River, and I decided to make a collage with clothes brands. There is also a picture of me christmas shopping last year. The insert in the pocket is a page that I ripped of from an AB that I started but never finished. It is an old picture of my grandma on christmas that I transfered using gel medium technique. I will be using pink, lime green and an ocean blue as the main colors for this book

AB SWAP WITH PENNEY

This is my first AB swap.
I am very anxious to see what Penney has to say about my page...
Regardless, it is being a lot of fun to share my art with others and see what other artists are doing.

First Posting

I finally decided to start my blog. I am exciting to show my art, my journey, my challenges...
